Our story
Haus am Walde was built in 1929 as a traditional hunting lodge in the beautiful Hochsauerland region. In 2004 we, Elisabeth and Willem Peters, fell in love with the house and decided to buy it.
Since then, we have carefully renovated the property with great attention to detail. Our recent focus has been the outbuilding, which we transformed into two fully independent, modern apartments with private entrances. We wanted to create a place where guests can enjoy privacy, space and comfort while still feeling the authentic atmosphere of the original 1929 lodge.

One of our most important values is old-fashioned cleanliness. We make sure the apartments are always spotlessly clean, fresh and well-maintained. We believe this creates the comfortable and welcoming feeling our guests appreciate most.
Privacy & Independence
Both apartments have their own private entrance and no shared hallways. You have your own space and freedom, whether you book one apartment or the entire outbuilding.

Our outbuilding
The outbuilding consists of two modern apartments. You can rent them separately or book the entire outbuilding for up to 14 guests. Both apartments are fully equipped with their own kitchen, living area and private entrance, giving you complete independence while staying in a historic setting.

Our outbuilding is quietly located at Am Waltenberg 91 in Winterberg, yet very central. You are only 200 metres from the Skiliftkarussell ski lifts, and within a 10-minute walk from the town centre, supermarkets, restaurants and the bike park. In summer the forests and hiking trails are right on your doorstep.
